Group A Fixtures and Dates
The group opener fixture of Germany vs Scotland is also the curtain-raiser for the big summer tournament. It is one that will be a big test for the Scots, who are big underdogs for the match in our football odds section.

Group A Winner Odds
Ever since the draw was made, Germany have been odds-on favourites in the 'Group A Winner' market. Home advantage for them is expected to help them claim the group win, despite having had a poor 2023.
Group A to Qualify Odds
The qualification race behind Germany is fascinating. Naturally, as the group favourites, they have extremely short odds to qualify for the next round. The rest of the group options, however, are intriguing,, with Scotland being the longest of the trio.
Group A Not to Qualify
The Group A 'Not To Qualify' market sees Germany as the longest-priced option, but Die Mannschaft have shockingly fallen at the group stage of the last two major international tournaments. The favourites for 'To Not Qualify' are Scotland.
Round of 16
In the Round of 16, the winners of Group A will go forward to meet the runners-up of Group C in the top quarter of the knockout bracket. Group C contains Slovenia, Slovakia, Denmark, and England.
The team that gets through in second place in Group A will go to the opposite side of the draw to meet the winner of Group B, which contains Spain, Italy, Croatia, and Albania.
Tournament Outright Winner Odds
England remain the current front-runner to win the tournament outright after a comfortable qualification ride. Former winners France have kept tabs with England in the outright market, with Spain, Italy, and Portugal leading the chase.
Group A Predictions
Neither Germany nor Switzerland head into the tournament with great form behind them. Germany haven't played competitively since their shock 2020 group exit, and new manager Julian Nagelsmann suffered back-to-back friendly defeats against Turkey and Austria last autumn.
But still, they top the Euro 2024 odds to win their group. Switzerland won only one of their final six matches during qualification and only got through to the tournament as runners-up from their section. Scotland did a magnificent job of qualifying for the competition.
In a tough qualification group that included Spain, the Scots comfortably took second place and picked up a superb 2-0 home win over the Spaniards along the way. So Scotland may not be out of the running in what is their first appearance since 1996.
Hungary sprung a surprise during qualification as they topped their qualification group ahead of Serbia. They remained unbeaten throughout their qualification campaign too, adding another layer of intrigue to this tournament.
